Botanical Blooms Mother's Day card

Oh my goodness did I have fun playing and coloring all sorts of ways to create this card.
I started out by stamping this lovely floral frame stamp (from HOTP Botanical Blooms stamp set) onto a piece of counterfold paper sheets, you know the kind fr the kitchen or better yet the sheet you lay into the basket before adding the fries.  I used my new favorite stitched die (Simon says stamp stitched shape bundle) to cut it out leaving the bottom with the tear off edge for an added cool effect.
I first just played with this piece coloring it with all sorts of supplies.  I colored the flowers, frame and swirls in with spectrum noir markers, I used a green sharpie for the green leaves.  I flipped it over and used my spun sugar distress ink with my round blending tool to color inside the frame.  I then switched to lilac distress ink around the outside of the entire frame.  I didn't think it came through enough so I flipped it over and added the lilac to the front around the frame.  I then added some sparkly teal chalk to the flower centers.  Wow... I really liked it just like this!

I decided on a purple print for the card front layer and used some matching teal metal brads to attach the layers together.  Then I found this deep purple vellum scraps in my stash and thought ooh!  So I stamped the single flowers onto the vellum and used my Scan N Cut 2 to cut them out.... Eeeeek love that machine!  Ok so I rubbed off the chalk from the flower centers on the first layer and used some small round dimensionals to pop up the top flower layers.  On the large one I curled up the edges to add more dimension.  I added a glue dot into the center of the large flower and covered it with the sparkly teal chalk.  I dabbed some chalk onto the other two flowers and was very pleased with the effect.  Then I used the Happy Mother's Day stamp from Craftin Desert Diva's - Happy Celebrations stamp set to stamp onto a white paper that I blended the lilac ink onto it and stamped with Memento tuxedo black ink.  I cut it with a HOTP scallop circle die which I popped up as well.  Then I took another scrap of the purple vellum and cut it with the stitched circle die from Simon Says Stamp.  I ran it through my xyron and adhered it onto the Happy Mother's Day scallop circle so it shows though the purple vellum.
For the inside I simply used two die cuts to layer together opposite each other, the shapes are spellbinder labels Twenty.  The inside sentiment stamp is from HOTP Lacy Things.  I also stamped one more flower from botanical blooms on white cardstock and cut it out with SNC2.  I then colored with same markers and added to inside.

Diamond Plate Birthday Card

Needed a Birthday card for my son so I went with simple and masculine.
I love using my Cuttlebug Diamond plate folder for masculine cards but this time it was even more fun because I snagged up Hubby's Foil Tape from the garage.
He recently had to buy this roll to make some repairs and he was worried about wasting the rest of the roll because he didn't need very much of it.... hahahahahaha he is too funny!  I will have no problem using it up for him!  I love to repurpose and reuse things when I can.
ok so I took a large scrap of white cardstock and covered it with this foil tape with the edges roughly sticking off the edge.  I then ran it through the big shot with my Simon says stamp Bundle of Stitched shapes Die for the mat.... perfect!  I used some more cuts with that stitched die set for the flags sticking out.  The designer paper for the flags is from DCWV "Glam Rock"  I used a Fleur De Lis stamp from JustRite stamps I cut it out with my Spellbinders labels 20.  The Birthday circle stamp is from cardz tv  Going in Circles Stamp set and cut with a circle die from HOTP.  I inked it all up with Tim Holtz "old paper" distress ink.  The screw brads are from my stash.  the black stitched circles under the brads at top are from Simon says stamp Stitched dress up tags.

On the inside I simple created a 4X6 printable using a quote from my HOTP 1000 card quotes.  I added the splash of color to help pull it together with the front old paper inking and also added the Happy Birthday part with my computer.  I printed on a 4x6 white cardstock then ran it through my bigshot with the large stitched mat once again.  I cut a few more stitched flags to put at the top.

Black & White Butterfly Thanks

~~~  If you are looking for my Crafty Island Reveal, Click Here  ~~~
Another Thanks card to share today.  I needed a few thank you cards for some very special ladies.  Happy to be back crafting again.  still some craft room unpacking to do but I really needed these cards plus I really need to be creative AFTER ALL THESE MONTHS OF NONE!!!  On to my card.....
I wanted to make a simple Black and white card so this is what I came up with.  I used my new Spellbinders Diagonal Chevron die for the white card front layered onto a black A4 card base scored at the top.  I stamped Thanks (HOTP 1192 Dancing Wildflowers Stamp set) with silver pearl embossing powder.  I added a black shimmery sequin to each corner dotted with a Silver pearl in the center of each.  The large Black Exotic Butterfly is also from Spellbinders and backed with white vellum angel wings.  I added one black sequin and several dots of silver pearl down the body of the butterfly.
for the inside I used my newest favorite  stitched mat die from Simon says Stamp - Bundle of stitched shapes for the white layer.  I then ran it through my Sizzix Scroll Frame Embossing folder.  I stamped the sentiment stamp A Great Big Thanks  (HOTP Thank You! Stamp set) in Memento  Tuxedo Black ink.  I added a small exotic butterfly with dots of silver pearl down the body.  plus 2 more black sequins dotted with silver pearl.
Purple flower thanks card
If you are looking for my Crafty Island Reveal, Click Here
Hello Crafty friends, I am back again today with another Thank you card.  I decided to do some coloring with my spectrum noir pens for this one... sorry I am still learning.
The beautiful stamp is from HOTP set Floral Fantasy.  I used a black glitter embossing powder to stamp the base stamp, I used memento Tuxedo black ink to stamp the top layer of the flower which I fussy cut out just the center to layer on top and I bent up edges to give the flower some depth.  The oval die cut is Spellbinders labels 10.  I used some purple ribbon I got from Karen over at my little scrap pieces.  The polka-dot paper is from a mat stack called Latte from DCWV, which I used a stitched rectangle die cut from Simon says stamp called Bundle of stitched shapes.  Love this die set!!!  That mat is placed directly onto an A4 size white card.  The sentiment stamp is also from HOTP set called Thank you and is stamped directly onto that labels 10 oval with memento tuxedo black ink.  I used my wink of stella pen to accent the flower with a beautiful silvery shimmer.  I added a purple sequin  on each side of the oval adhered directly onto the ribbon with glossy accents.  I then dabbed a bit of purple glitter glue on top of each sequin.  I used  a dragonfly die cut from tiny things with wings set.  I cut it once from purple card stock and then again from a scrap of vellum.  I then took the wink of stella to the entire vellum piece and layered it on top of the purple one.  I bent the wings up on the top dragonfly.
on the inside I used the smaller dragonfly from same die set.  I again used the same  stitched rectangle die cut from Simon says stamp called Bundle of stitched shapes to create not only the large stitched mat but also the smaller stitched rectangle at the top with the polka-dot paper.  The sentiment stamp is again from HOTP set called Thank you and is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink.
I am entering into these fun challenges:
Craft Island Reveal
I am so beyond excited to have my vision come to life for my new craft room.  I cannot wait to finish unpacking in here now and get busy using this beautiful new crafty space. What's more is my husband and I did it ourselves, I am feeling so proud! And very grateful that I could tell my husband my ideas and he could help me bring it to life.
I need to look for some more pink tubs to fill this side, but these will work for now.  I love having my paper cubes along the sides.... Everything is right at my fingertips :)
Did you notice my wonderful cutting mat tabletop?  this is what inspired this whole project lol.  My son got me this mat several years ago and I always had it on my big oak L shaped desk but that desk would not fit right in this room so it had to go to my Hubby's office and I needed to come up with a new idea for my new room to hold this mat.  When I dreamed up this idea, I had no idea it would come out this good.
And do you notice my can organizer?  I made this several years ago and it always sat on my desk near me but now it is even better because I now have it on a turntable that I salvaged from my microwave that recently bit the dust.  The idea came to me to drill a spot for it on the island so I asked hubby and he said yeah no problem.... Eeeeeek!  Happy girl right here!  If you want to see how I made my Can organizer you can find that old post here:  Pretty tin can organizer
Plus I can move it and pull out the spinner wheels if I need to work on measuring or cutting something large on my mat.  I so love being able to up-cycle things especially when they become such a wonderful asset to my work space.
ok well I have much unpacking to get to and I am in the middle of making a card so I better get to work.  Thanks for stopping by to check out my new Craft Island.  I hope to make a walk-thru video of my new Craft room and some of the ways I have found to organize and a few more up-cycles to share with you all when I get it finished.  As always, I wish you a happy and crafty day!
sneak peek of my new craft room
Here is the sneak peek of my craft room I promised to share with you all.  For those of you that don't know we bought a home and moved recently.  I am in love with our new Home and made sure to take the time to put the rest of the house together before I started on the craft room.  We have been spending a lot of time on the yard too so it has taken me awhile to get in here.  As soon as I checked out the house and fell in love with it.  I visually started placing things in here for my craft room.  I had many visions of grand ideas lol.  So now the time has finally come to make my biggest vision into a reality!
up on blocks so I could paint the crossbars black to match the cube shelves, I added pink card stock to the backs of  any open cubes after i put them together.  top will be white with mat on top and the lower shelf will also be white.  I will then tuck two white paper cubes on either side underneath.
We are in the process of building my crafty work island in the center of the room.  I am loving it already and can't wait to get it finished so I can finish unpacking my crafty supplies and get back to crafting.  My son gave me a wonderful large cutting mat a few years ago.  It used to be on my huge Oak L desk but the desk wouldn't fit in this room without over crowding so I gave the desk to my husband to use at his office.  The large Cutting Mat however will be placed on the top of this work island to become the entire work surface.
I also have an up cycle idea in the works as well if my hubby can make it happen I will be one happy girl.  I will share that with you if it all works out and fingers crossed because it will be an amazing functional addition for me.
cant wait to show you all a full walk thru with my room is complete.  Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a wonderful and crafty day.
Awesomeness Thank You Card
Oh my gosh!  It has been a huge long break from crafting for me.  We bought a house and moved and I wanted to get the rest of the house pretty well done before I came to start my craft room.  Over the last few days I have been arranging things and getting somewhat unpacked in here finally.  I have a center island work station planned but now have to wait on hubby to help me make that happen.  I couldn't wait any longer on crafting though, I have been having major craft withdrawals!!!  I have enough unpacked to make a card or two so that it what I spent this morning doing.
I had so much fun with this card, oh how I have missed my creative time!  I started out using one of Mary's new card Sketches from over at  Cardz TV.  I chose to use Sketch #4 for this pretty little card.  I used paper scraps from an Authentique stack called Classique:  Pretty.  The hounds tooth pieces I altered by blending color all over with a pink pigment ink from stampabilities and using a Tim holtz blending foam.  the card base is just a plain white cardstock cut to make an A-4 size card.  The first(bottom Layer) is a solid light pink recollections cardstock.  I love this new Stitched Shapes Bundle I got from Simon says stamp and used the large stitched rectangle for this layer then added a layer of designer paper onto that.  then I added a 1" strip of pink with a 3/4" strip of hounds tooth.  the beautiful opulent oval it from spellbinders along with the next layer of hounds tooth designer paper.  for the flower I used several dies and materials.  The bottom flower layer is cut from a scrap of  glimmer pink handmade paper I won many years ago... I love that paper!  then I used some of the same papers already being used on card, all of those flower layers were cut from spellbinders jewel flowers dies.  the top flower layer is from HOTP Bodacious Blooms die and is cut from a pretty patterned white vellum.  I inked all the flower petal edges with the same pink ink as I blended with earlier.   I added some clear dew drops and colored over them with one on my pink spectrum noir markers.  The small sentiment frame is also from Spellbinders from a set called twisted metal.  The thank you stamp and the inside sentiment stamp "is there any limit to your awesomeness!" are both from HOTP Thank You stamp Set.
For the inside along with that adorable sentiment stamp I again used that large stitched Mat and I also made some stitched flags playing around with that set.  I added the extra pieces to form the opposite twisted metal frame to add on top of the flags.  I also cut one more jewel flower with a couple of assorted dies layered on top.
and the cute envelope I added a strip of hounds tooth and some varying cuts of star flowers from a spellbinders set.
