Valentines Crafts with the kids

I had my Grand Kids (6&7) for the whole weekend and we got some crafting done together.  We made Valentine cards for their Mom and Dad using a file from Creative Kuts2 that I created last year.

For their Mommy
Ashlyn Colored Mommy's
For Their Daddy
Dustin colored this one for Daddy
We Made this Paper Rose Bouquet for their Mommy, My Daughter Dana
I made this cut file similar to the Tim Holtz punched Paper Flowers
Here is Dana with her flower arrangement :)
we also made these Cute Butterfly crafts for the kids to go on a stick
They enjoyed pasting the layers together, adding brads, sticks and of course
the oh so fun glitter.  File from Cricut Picturesque Cartridge.
Here are the kids later at home with their Butterflies on a stick :)

It was a great weekend, they wore me out as usual but we had fun fun fun
and did lots of crafting together.

Have a fabulous day, Eva :)

Ribbon Wraps from Penny are AWESOME!!!

Wow so I have had a super busy weekend.  I had my Grand kids from Friday until Sunday and we were busy getting lots of crafting done.  I was going to share some of the crafting with you all today but I woke up to an email from Penny Duncan's blog which I of course follow.  OH my Heck, I went and watched her video, saw her awesome ribbon wraps and how awesome her organized ribbons were plus the fact that she is sharing her cut files for FREE and I just had to stop everything else I was doing & work on mine.  It took me all morning but yay, I am so happy with this awesome system I just had to share with you all.

Now I have some of my spooled ribbons on my ribbon shelves but I also had gobs and gobs of wraps of ribbon and lace and fibers that were just stuffed in drawers and so mixed up I hardly ever used any of it.  Now it is all beautiful and organized and I am so Happy, Thanks so much Penny Duncan :)
these cards she made fit so perfectly into the plastic drawer stands...wayyyyy cooooollllll
Looky Looky Looky how organized and pretty they all are in the drawer.
The empty ribbon wrap card shown here is the 1/2" size
(there are 4 sizes ~ 1/2" - 1" - 2" - 3")
these are some of the 2" & 3" sized ones, they will fit in a drawer too
but I wanted to hang these up on the wall.

so please go over to Penny's site and check out her video and grab
up her awesome files that she is sharing for free right now and be
sure to leave her some bloggy love if you are helped by her very
cool organization idea and tools :)

Tall Center Step Happy Bday card

I just finished making this so super cute birthday card. I even made an svg cut file for the center step base :) then used cricut cart cuts to embellish from Birthday Bash Cartridge.

I also used some embossing folders to dry emboss
the side pieces and cupcake bottoms
I used pop dots to pop up the cupcakes & the cherries
I used a stamp for the sentiment, I also added a fancy
cut border and stamped with cute heart XO
border stamp from my stash and added one single cherry to tie everything together.  I hope you like my fun card today and please leave a comment, I always love to read bloggy love :)

Now for my project:
For my project I went way out of the box and got to try so many fun techniques.  I made a snowman from an upside down pot and a plain glass bowl.

I saw one on Pinterest and just had to make one but jazzed up to my taste of course :)
so hmmmm where to start.  The Hat is a file I designed for the top and will be available in the CK2 store.  It slides open and can hold candy.
You can find the file here
and it will include the other cuts I used to to make the face and vest
I attached my Hat file to the top of the pot plate, which I flipped upside down & painted black to match the hat.  I also added a circle of black felt on the underside of the pot plate so it would rest nicely on the glass bowl for the head.  The head was just a clear glass bowl, I frosted it by painting the outside with plain ole elmers glue.  The eyes and mouth are from files that I cut out in vinyl and placed on the glass bowl.  The nose I created from a homemade salt dough I made from 1/4 flour + 1/4 Salt + about an 1/8 cup to a 1/4 cup of water, I just added water a little at a time until I liked the consistency. after I formed the nose by hand I took a wedge tool to scrap creases in the nose to give it a more real effect.  Let it dry.
I then baked the nose in the oven for 1 hour at 200 degrees.  I let it cool then painted it white with some white acrylic craft paint.  After is was dry I then painted it with some shiny orange Polymark dimensional fabric paint.  then glued to the frosted bowl with E-6000 adhesive.  I used this same adhesive to attach the head (bowl) to the body (pot)  The pot I also painted with and acrylic craft paint, my favorite shade of purple of course :)  *tip ~  as the porous material of the clay pot soaks up the paint too much, I first spray painted the entire pot with a cheap acrylic off white spray paint to prime it.

So I added some pieces I cut from fleece too, here are the scarf and vest.  I also cut sleeves for the arms and mittens to attach.  I rolled up some card stock and put in the sleeves to fill in the arms.  after attaching all of the fleece pieces I then attached some purple ribbon at the top of each mitten then added some pink jingle bells on that.  I also added some snowflake buttons down the center of his chest.  This was a super fun project and I just love how it turned out.  For mine I used the big bowl on a 5 inch pot but you could do these in a small size too.  What a great teacher gift with the hat filled with kisses and a small battery operated tealight in the head.

Or you can fill the head with treats too.  Either way it is adorable!!!

Here is the video tutorial for the 3-D Snowman Hat File

I hope you enjoyed my project and make sure you comment and follow all guidlines because one lucky winner will win the files I used to make this awesome Snowman.  GOOD LUCK!!! :)
