Trick or treat pumpkin card

Today I have a scary looking Halloween card for you.  I wanted to create the pumpkin all in black to give it a Silhouette off in the distance look that's glowing from the inside.   This is another fun take on the sketch over at your next stamp sketch challenge.

The background pattern paper is from Elegant Witch Mat Pad - Martha Stewart

The rest of the pattern pieces are all Halloween Scraps
I used my stitched banner die for the bottom Grey layer.
I used a stitched rectangle die for the purple plaid layer.
I created a black stitched frame with two of my square stitch Stax dies, I then cut a pattern scrap with the smaller of the stitched dies to inset as a background for the pumpkin.
I then placed the spooky black pumpkin with the hat inside the box and decided to go ahead and add yellow insets for the eyes, nose and mouth.  At this time (last minute lol) I decided to incorporate a little more yellow to pull the card together so I got out my YNS scallop edge die, placing under the plaid layer at the top and bottom.
I stamped trick or treat and heat embossed with fine detail white powder, that sentiment is from Craftin Desert Divas - Frightfully Cute stamp set.

Candy Cane Cutie

Hi Crafters, today I have a fun sketch card to share with you.  Not only did I base this card on the sketch over at Your Next Stamp sketch Challenge I also used the adorable sentiment stamp from their Christmas set - Holiday Sentiments.  Isn't that just the cutest sentiment in candy cane font?  Love it!

These adorable Christmas pattern papers are from HOTP - Christmas Sweets
I used a stitched banner die for the green pattern layer but decided I wanted it squared off so I ran the flag end back through the same die ... die cutting it with the flat End...  I hope that made sense.
I used my stitched postage stamp dies for the next two layers backing them with brown and Kraft card stock.  The cutie patootie elf is from HOTP - Elf Small Stamp.  I colored with my spectrum noir markers, plus I added Gold metallic marker to the bells on the hat and shoes.  That gold metallic marker is from Recollection's.  I cut the elf out with a small outline of white on my ScanNCut 2 machine.  I wasn't happy with the way the elf stamping looked because the shoes the hat and the larger stripes on the candy cane all stamped solid black. I tried to go over the hat with red paint but it didn't stand out so I tried red Stickles and Voila ... was very happy with the outcome.  So I of course went over the hat the shoes and the candy cane stripes with red stickles as you can see.  I used my framed fishtail banner die to cut for the sentiment.  I stamped Candy Cane Cutie as I said before from

I stamped in VersaMagic red Chalk ink and then again with VersaMark clear embossing ink, then using clear acrylic embossing powder and heat set.  I absolutely love how it turned out, what a great sentiment stamp!

Star Blast Birthday Greetings Easel card

I needed a birthday card for our oldest Grandson who is now working and in college.  Oh my where has the time gone? Lol

For this card I carefully chose some fun colors to make it a cheerful one.  I started by making an Easel card base in white and covered the front in a recollections teal cardstock. After scoring the center for the Easel mechanism I then decided to run the whole card front thru my Darice Chevron embossing folder.  I then went over the score line once again and creased for the Easel base.
I took a piece of mirror cardstock and cut it the full size of the card front, I then took my star blast die and cut it twice, once at the top and then once at the bottom.  I layered a couple of colors of orange cardstock behind it and attached it to the card base only below the fold line.  I layered a lighter orange pattern paper over the center mirrored piece leaving a slight shiny border around the edges.  I then took an acetate oval sentiment from HOTP Cardmaker's Birthday Clear & Frosted overlays book and placed it over a scrap of the matching orange cardstock only adhering under the bottom blue colored section.  I then used a stitched rectangle die to cut through both pieces attaching the acetate even more with the stitching. I added that to the center of the card.  I took three of the small stars that were evacuated from the main die cutting and colored them orange with a sharpie marker, so cute.... they look like custom star brads.

For the inside I covered the entire inside with matching designer paper.  I used a sentiment block from HOTP Cardmaker's Instant Card Art Book, I backed it with another scrap of matching teal cardstock.  I popped up on foam squares to act as a stopper for the Easel mechanism.  I added a couple of evacuated stars to the sentiment block this time leaving them silver to match the front.

I made an envelope for this card on my WRMK 123 punchboard using designer paper from Recollection's Neon & Kraft Paper Pad.

It is very hard to get good photos of this card because of the reflections from the mirror card and the acetate sentiment.

A Blast in Kindergarten Card

Here is the second of three back to school cards for my Grand kids this week.  This one is for my little man who just turned 5 and is so excited to finally get to go to school for the first time ever.  I decided to use my Cricut cuts for this one.  

I used a black base card and made it into an Easel card.  I covered the black with some cute green and yellow grid looking paper from Cricut Celebrations 6X12 Paper pad.
I cut the label in black from Cricut Essentials & layered it with some orange and yellow star paper from ATD Birthday wishes paper pad
The fun crayons, glue and scissors are from Cricut Simply Charmed.  I used up lots of scraps to cut all of the embellishments.  I stamped have a blast in Memento Black ink from Space Explorer Stamp Set.

For the inside I cut a fat crayon shape to add another sentiment onto.  I used my black fine tip Cricut pen to write "In Kindergarten" with Fontastic Fonts - DJ Terrific and popped it up on foam tape to hold the Easel open.

Chalkboard Back to School shaped card

The kids went back to school this week so I had to get them all a special card made. This one is for my Grand daughter going into the 6th grade starting middle school this year.

I used my Cricut Explore not only to cut everything for this card but also for the writing.
I cut the cute shaped card base from Kraft cardstock.  I just used plain black cardstock for the chalkboard.  I used a Recollection's metallic silver pen for the top letters and one of my new Promarx liquid chalk markers for the pink lettering.
I found a cheap way to use other markers in my Cricut Explore by removing my pen holder and buying some cheap dollar store foam pen grips and cutting them to fit around .... I will post photos below.

I used a Cricut fine tip pen for the math and science books and stamped the face on the apple with Peachy Keen Basic Paper Doll Faces stamp set using Memento Tuxedo black ink. I drew some black marks on the ruler by hand.  I used foam tape to pop up the chalk holder ledge.

For the inside I again used my Cricut Explore to write, this time in a Cricut fine tip blue pen.
I stamped the heart apple with a dollar store stamp from my stash.  I used spectrum Noir markers to color it in.

Ice Cream Soda shaped card

I just love shaped cards, if you all didn't know that already lol.  here is another fun design coming soon to Creativekuts.com

This card is made as a pull up style.  I used pink Neon Cardstock from Craft Smith stack. for the main base.  White recollection's for the bottom and the sentiment banner.  White glitter cardstock for the top cream, and green stripes for the straw from Lawn Fawn -  Lets Polka in the Meadow.  I stamped sentiment from  HOTP Thank You! Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I added a white bow with a hot pink flat back pearl.

For the inside I simply stamped another sentiment from the same HOTP Thank You! Stamp Set.

Bon Voyage Trailer card

oh my goodness, I fell in love with this adorable trailer shaped card from creativekuts.com

The pattern papers are from ms. sparkle & co. wood grain paper pad & DCWV The Marquee stack.  The purple card stock is from Neenah Astrobrights Gravity Grape.  The rest of the solid cardstocks are from recollections.  I popped up the windows and the cute girl.  I decided to make this a Thank you card for some of our great friends who love to go camping with their trailer.

For the inside I used more of the Neenah Astrobrights Gravity Grape purple cardstock. Using my Cricut Explore I wrote the sentiment you make me a happy camper! with my black Cricut pen and the Fontastic Fonts- DJ Terrific.  Below that I stamped Thanks for all you do! from HOTP Thank You! Stamp Set in Memento tuxedo black ink.

Warm Gingerbread Wishes

I loved this weeks sketch over at Tuesday morning sketches so much I just had to make one more.  This time I thought a warm Gingerbread Christmas card would be nice.

I used some pattern papers from HOTP - Christmas sweets and Crate Paper - Snow Day.  Solid Cardstocks are from Recollections.   I used Simon Says stamp stitched rectangle to layer on top of the base card.  I used my stitched scallop border cut twice to add the topper which I popped up on foam tape.  I stamped the topper in pigment brown ink - Warm Wishes.  I wrapped red and white twine at the top and added 1 tiny star and 4 bigger stars that I die cut from my moon and stars die set.  I popped the larger stars up and made them look like they are hanging from twine.
I used my stitched stax oval dies to cut 3 ovals and place 3 cute little foam Gingerbread men (Dollar Gen) on them.  What a fun easy card design, perfect for making multiples for Christmas.

Christmas Apron Shaped Card

What a great Christmas card, I love shaped cards!  This is another fun design from Creativekuts.com

The pattern papers are from two different Cricut 6x12 stacks - polkadot from doodlecharms stack, red plaid from Christmas Cheer stack, Green holly and ruffles from stash.
Cardstocks are from recollections.  I popped up small pocket and large pocket on foam tape.  I added the green ruffle on the pockets, I used my purple cows trimmer to create the scallop ruffle trim. The face on the gingerbread man is from Peachy Keen Basic paper doll.
I colored in the mouth with red gel pen and dotted the eyes with a white gel pen.  I used glitter chalk on the cheeks.  I used a ball tool to round out the center of the wooden spoon. I used my moon & stars die set to cut the star I added to the top pocket.
I added a tiny seed bead to the glove/mit to look like an eyelet.
I used my stitched rectangle dies to cut mats for the sentiment.  I stamped Merry Christmas from Celebrate the wonder stamp set.  I stamped in brown and then clear embossed over it.  I added 3 deep red rhinestones to the holly leaves.  I added some red ribbon from my stash for the ties.

For the inside I stamped Warm winter Wishes and a little gingerbread man in brown pigment ink.  I also added another strip of the scalloped green pattern paper at the bottom to finish it off.
