Jen's Craft Corner Teddy Bear Blog Hop

Here is some History for you on the Teddy Bear
National Teddy Bear Day

Teddy bears are, of course, named after US President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt. The name came about after a 1902 hunting expedition. The hunt had found no game, so at the end of the day someone brought out a baby bear and suggested that Roosevelt might like to shoot it instead. Roosevelt understandably felt that this was not exactly sporting and refused. The incident was illustrated in a newspaper cartoon entitled "Drawing the Line" - which also referred to the political situation at the time. An enterprising New York toymaker saw an opportunity and brought out a cute stuffed bear named "Teddy's Bear". The rest, as the say, is history.
Hope to see you here on Friday for this hop, I have some wonderful projects to share with you & Candy to share as well.

Last day for GIVEAWAY!!! Digital Scrapbooking Suite!!!!

Also don't forget to get signed up for my Cricut Cartridge GIVEAWAY Here

So Today is the very last day for you to get in your comments and follow me to have a chance to win this fabulous software.  My Memories is letting me give away a copy to one of my lucky follower/friends.  Here is a couple of samples of what I made with this fabulicous program.  And it was so easy and fun.

On this first one I imported all of the embellishments from a digi kit I already had, so you are not limited to just buying their kits.  This was very important to me because I have many digi kits already.  The kits they offer are great though and are a wonderful edition to my collection.

This next one I did the first part all in the My Memories Suite and used only free stuff that was already in the program.
Next I printed as an 8x8 and mounted it to a 12x12 designer paper and embellished with traditional materials. making it into a Hybrid, half digital and half traditional.
I love making these and get to incorporate both styles this way. Those adorable Turtles are paper piecings from Little scraps of heaven designs.

Click here to go to the original post and get signed up to win this amazing Digital scrapbooking Software.  Entries Close Tonight at 12:00 PM EST

Also please stop back by on Friday, as I will be in my first hop ever, I am so excited!!!  it is the Teddy Bear Blog Hop hosted by Jen's Craft Corner.  Come back to see what I make and be sure to leave me your wonderful comments as I will be offering up some Candy for you!!!

Well thats it for me today...well for now, I will be trying to get a project posted I am working on today if I get it finished up.  It is a special Baby shower gift for my new Great Great Nephew who was born yesterday, he decide to arrive a little early so he wouldn't miss the party!!!  lol

My Memories Suite Software Giveaway!!!

My Memories has been kind enough to sponsor a GIVE-AWAY of one (1)
Memories Suite software download to one of my followers/friends.

It is more than just a digital scrapbooking program, but that part of it is so great!!  I just finished making a quick simple digital page with some of the pictures I took at the zoo with the kiddos last weekend.
I made this entire layout with all of the free stuff already in the program.  And it took me less than 20 minutes, and it came out super cute.  I will be doing plenty more with the rest of my Zoo pics to make a whole album for myself and probably one for my Daughter too since all I have to do is print off another set.
Here it is after I turned it into a hybrid, meaning I printed the digital page at 8x8 in my printer and then pasted it to a 12x12 designer paper, then embellished it with traditional supplies.  These oh so cute Turtles are from  Little scraps of heaven designs, you can read more about how I created the hybrid by clicking here.

You can use this in your card making as well, I love to create my inside sentiments digitally, then print and paste into my card. Or a banner or circle or square with your own personally created digistamp for the front of your card.  This program also lets you add in videos to your digital album,
I can include my zoo videos in this album too, YAY!!!

I am so excited to get some more projects done with My Memories Suite.  Here is another one I did pulling items from digital kits I already own into My Memories Suite, this one is super cute of our Family Vacation at Seaworld San Diego last month, this would look great framed and on the wall!!! or give as a gift!!!

Here is a video for you to learn about this super great digital software.

Hybrid Layout Plus Giveaway

So I wanted to share with you all the way I sometimes do Hybrid Layouts.  I start out by making a simple design with my photos in the form of a digital layout.  (Original photo below scroll down)  Then I print it out on photo paper in an 8x8 size and cut off all of the white edges.  I place on a full size  12 x 12 patterned paper of some sort.  Then I start creating traditional pieces to go on my full size layout.  This one is from a recent trip to the Zoo with my Daughter and two adorable Grandchildren, it was fun. Here it is as the final Page after adding all of my Traditional pieces.
The traditional pieces I added on are of course the two turtles to begin with.  These both paper piecing files from Little scraps of heaven designs.  The Turtle on the left is from the Jungle & Zoo Pals Set and the Turtle on the right is called valentine-turtle.  There are many good files over there to choose from.  So I cut them on my Cricut Expression using Sure Cuts Alot 2.   I used a Martha
Stewart Punch on the green polka dot paper at top and bottom.  I then used a wavy edge in my paper cutter to add the light green strip over the top.  The letters were fun.  I used a small stamp punch I picked up for a dollar, great buy...for the background in the light green.  Then I used my cuttlebug die set called Baby Face for all of the letters - in dark green to the left and pasted onto the stamp cutouts.
And then the circle dies with a letter in the center were punched in the light green color with the dark green backing it.  I am so happy I bought this set. Then the Admit One Ticket is from a pack of journaling tag set I picked up from Oriental Trading Company.  Oh and the awesome 12x12 paper I chose to put it all on is from a new paper pack I just picked up called Rustic from DCWV...It is a wonderful paper pack.
Below is Digital LO only before I made it into a Hybrid LO.
So you see this is a fabulous use for the Awesome program, My Memories Suite, digital scarpbook software that I am giving away a copy of.  Tomorrow, Sept 7 is the last Day to enter
for your chance to win this.  Click HERE to enter to win before it is too late. follow the simple rules there and thats it.  GOOD LUCK!!!

It was fabulous and for such a great cause.  I am linking up this card

On the hop the DT's all designed awesome Halloween Banners for the kids rooms at the hospital.
We get to help by sending in some fun halloween cards.  I hope you will go hop and link up a card to send in too.  The more cards the more happy little kids!!!
ok, about my card, Black background then layered with a polka dot Halloween paper
from K&Co.  then layered with a purple paper embossed with the cuttlebug folder,
Skeleton scroll.  Then I stamped Boo in the center with Stayz On jet black ink.
I ran some light orange ink over the skeleton embossing.
The pumpkins and ghosts where all cut from Paper Doll Dress Up.
I embossed the big pumpkin with the same folder.  I added stickeles to all
of the vines and tops, gold stickles to the one Jack-o-lantern face.  The other
Jack-o-lantern I added some bright yellow paper behind to look like it is lit up inside.
the ghosts are just inked around the edges with Tim Holtz, walnut stain.  I highlighted
the ghosts faces with a brown marker.  I sure hope some special child smiles really big
when they recieve this card.  I am so happy to be a part of giving them a Happy Halloween.

Birthday Fishes Joy Fold Card

Hello Crafters, I hope all is well with each and every one of you.  I have been very busy making this card times 6.  Yes that is right 6 times for a card swap I am in.  As I went along making this I kept adding in new things and more layers.  I still have some assembling to do on the other 5 but this one is DONE finally, lol.  I love the way it came out though so it was worth all of the extra efforts over the past two days.  I have to say I am very happy it is almost over though.  I started out wanting to make my first
Joy Fold card, as I recently saw one on a blog hop I hopped and then my imagination took over........
well this is what I came up with.
Sorry I had to use a clip to hold it closed
This adorable fish and fish bowl I recently purchased from
Little scraps of heaven designs. The sand at the bottom I spritz with Tattered Angels
Glimmer Mist -  Vanilla Breeze.  The Tag on the left
is cut from Plantin Schoolbook - Tag 1 page 78.  I took it into Design Studio
and sized the tag to 5" x 2 3/4.  I added some fun fibers to the top.
the Birthday fishes sentiment I did in my Craft Artist, I printed on blue paper
then I lined it all up in sure cuts alot 2 and then cut out the tags around the sentiment.
Is this not too cute? it looks like the little fisherman is fishing in the fish bowl.
Fisherman is cut at 4" from Everyday Paper Dolls, page 70.  The adorable Peachy Keen face
- wide eyed kids, I colored in with white gelly roll and colored gel pens.
All of his clothes plus the fishing pole are also cute at the same settings.
The fishing line is white embroidery floss.  Then you open the last part and Voila...

There is a sad worm, cut from April Showers at 3/4, on a hook at the end of the fishing
line over looking a pond with a big red fish jumping up out of the waves to get him.
the hook is from Paper Doll Dress Up -  page 17, only it was a hand hook for a pirate.  I cut it at
4" then punched a 1/8" hole in the center and then trimmed around it to give it the look
of a fishing hook.  It actually came out pretty good but the worm covers most of it.  the
water is a blue paper cut at 1 1/4 x 1 3/4 and then corner chomped 1/4".  I then ran it through
cuttlebug, tiny bubbles folder.  The cute little waves are from svgcuts, cut at 2" wide.
the Red Fish is from Everyday Paper Dolls, accesory 3 no shift, cut at 3/4" -  page 70.
I added blue paper with corners chomped behind the fish bowl to leave room to
sign and add a sentiment to the inside of the card.

I have entered into these Challenges
Tuesday throw down - Punny Sentiment
Thank you so much for stopping by,
I hope you enjoyed your visit today.
Please leave me a comment as we all enjoy
reading them so much.

Happy Crafting,  Eva :0)
