(I had to use mini paper clips to hold closed for photos)
I decided to keep the front cover very rectangle so that this album could be displayed on the shelf and stand properly, but you could attach fancy shape covers if you'd like. I started off with my beautiful fairy with lantern die and accented her wings with a translucent glitter sheet (HOTP) I glued behind. I did the same for the lantern but I colored it in first to give it a pink glow. The background pattern paper is from Cricut - Animal Kingdom. I also used the Cricut to write the sentiment "What a beautiful magical first…" using font Cricut alphabet. I used Cricut alphabet again but this time to cut out 30, pattern paper used is Lawn Fawn - polka in the meadow. Using DSP from authentique - classique pretty I cut the frame at the top of my project with my die–versions whispers nesting frames 1. I cut the happy birthday with my Cricut - creative everyday cards. I added a metallic pink puffy heart gem that I also placed a heart die cut from the translucent glitter sheet over the top. I went around the die-versions frame and the numbers 30 with a black sharpie marker to define the edges. Now onto the inside…
Isn't that just gorgeous? For the inside I used more of the same designer papers as the front, adding in the striped paper that is also from the authentique stack. My original idea was to only add pictures of the four kids leaving the Lacy pattern paper spots open but I loved adding the black-and-white photos so much I decided to add pictures of her and her husband as well, I think she will really treasure this and either display it standing like this or she could actually flatten it and add it into a frame ... that's why I kept everything so squared off. I used my stitched square stack dies to cut all of the squares for the inside. The entire card is 9" x 12" wide. For all of the pink pattern paper mats I used the 2 5/8"
stitched square to cut them all. For the two smaller rectangle pieces I simply used the same size square die cutting one of each and cut them in half. For all of the photos I sized them down in my Craftartist program cropping away everything I didn't want and sized them down to 2 1/2 inch squares, leaving myself just enough of a bleed to get a perfect cut on every one. So using my 2 3/8" stitched square die, they each cut out perfectly.
For the pretty heart Flourish on either side I used spellbinders frosty forms border die and then trimmed it in half using one on each side. I cut it from black card stock and went over both entirely with wink of Stella clear glitter brush. I then used my two tiny heart dies from a Band-Aid die set. I cut one from black cardstock & the other smaller one was cut from the Cricut animal kingdom pink paper but first I layered on some of the translucent glitter sheet before cutting.
I added a back cover where I could sign and add a couple more photos. I decided to go with photos of the two of them when they were in high school, back before they created this beautiful family of theirs. The "handmade with love" sentiment came from Cricut – Wild card, which I used my Cricut to write with a Cricut fine tip black pen.
